The end :C

Hi everybody!

Well, this is my first experience using blogs in my entire live. Usually I use my computer for Facebook and Twitter (and other things), so blogs are new for me.

The blog helped me to learn how to write better English. My feeling right now is weird because was really fun and helped me to know me. At first I had to find each word in www.linguee.cl but now I can write a lot of things without it.

I would include more social issues, personal things, thoughts of life, current issues (like things that happen in Chile), etc. I think it is important to write what we think about what happens in Chile, the world and even in college.
I also think it would be fun to revisit some blogs in class, because it would serve to meet our classmates.

Well…This blog experience was reeeeeeally fun and I enjoyed when I had to write about things that I like or interesting to me. I must congrats and say THANKS Nico for the willingness to help and the good humor of each blog assignment.

I hope to have more English classes because I want to live in USA and the English is a “bit” necessary.  Thanks for all!

Good bye! :C

Dream Home

Hello everybody!

I must admit that I love Santiago. I love Chile too but my dream is live in other country, with better lifestyle, with cultural environment and with different people. So my dream home would be in a city: New York.

First I want to clarify that this is my dream home NOW, because in 20 years I hope to live quiet in a rural city.
The apartments in New York are very expensive, but like I have access to an unlimited budget it would be small but comfortable.

My apartments would be permanent and obviously close to civilization, in the downtown.
SO, my dream home is a normal apartment, I would like a big kitchen for cooking, an office for working and near the central park.

That is my dream home; it isn’t a big house because I don’t need a big house. All I need is to be in a nice place with the people I love. My dream is to live in another country, and hope to do it. New York it’s a chaotic place but I would live there for a while to know a different culture, people and places.

Trip out!

If i had a lot of money, i would be traveling around the world. But i have to choose 6 places to go.
The chosen places are: Cuba, New York, Europe (a tour of France, Italy, Germany, Austria), Egypt, Beijin and Moscow.

I chose Cuba because is a very different country with warm people, and with an interesting history; New York because i would like to know one of the most famous cities in the world; Europa because you can meet many countries in a short time; Egypt because i have to know the pyramids; Beijin because China has a totally different culture and Beijin is an awesome city (i think) and Moscow because cause me curious.

Specifically i would like to see the museums in Cuba, go to broadway in New York (for this i need a lot of money, i know), eat a lot in Italy and France, see the pyramids in Egypt, know the chinese wall, and enjoy the architecture in Moscow.

The route would begin in Cuba, then would travel by plane to New York. I would continue traveling by plane to Europe where would tour the countries. Then (by plane) would travel to Egypt, and finally would arrive to Moscow.

I would love to travel with friends, but i also would like to travel alone. Both have their charm. Traveling with friends makes it more fun to go out and have fun but traveling alone allows meet more people in the cities.
Ideally this trip would last about a year. This would be a tourist trip but i would really like to travel a semester or a year to study in another country, meet people, learn as much as i can and then go back to Chile to apply new knowledge (in professional and private life).

welcome to Chile

I hate inequality.

It is said that Chile is a developing country, that the economy is stable, we think that we are the best country in South America. Chile seems to be a great country but not all that glitters is gold.
Chile is the OECD country with most income inequality,
while a few live comfortably (increasing GDP), many
struggle to survive.

We don't have free education, we are indebted to study (when i finish my studies, my debt will be more than 30000 dollars), competitive logic impede quality education.
Our children are educated as numbers, with no chance to think freely. From birth are destined to be poor, to not think, to be the working hand. This is neoliberalism. The State has a minimal role that is not enough to ensure the welfare of their own nation, but has a leading role  protecting the capitalist.
Observed inequality is no accident, it's part of the ideal system for the elite.

We, college students, are also part of an elite, some had money, some luck, others a supportive family. Privileged as we are, we must fight for a better country, without inequality, without injustice. I hate inequality, but I hate even more the arrogance of the chileans, there is none so blind as those that cannot see.

I also hate laziness and complacency, we are young, we have to work now and always for our people, for the excluded, for the forgotten, for Chile.

I admit, I hate many things, but I love the chileans who struggle every day against the absurd and neoliberal policies imposed by governments.

My Career is in Gear

The person i choose is Henri Fayol.

He was a mining engineer but he became famous for his contributions to the administration. He was born in 1841 in Istambul.  Fayol became managing director in 1888 of the "Compagnie de Commentry-Fourchambault-Decazeville".

his most important contributions were "the Principles of management".
One of the principles is "division of work": work specialization is very important for efficient organization. Currently the division of work is employed in organizations of all kinds.
Other principle is "Equity": is about being fair to the employee.
"Remuneration": fair pay to employees.

We can see that the contributions of Fayol are terms that deal in all organizations today.

He also published important books like "Industrial and General Administration" and "General and Industrial Management."

Fayol was one of the major contributors to the classical approach to management, we need to understand their approach to the era in which he lived. Their contributions were important because they ordered and classified concepts that are present in every organization.

In my career we have to read Fayol's books a lot of times. I met him because in the subject "organization theory" we had too read chapters of "General and Industrial Management".

Honestly I prefer modern authors who write about human relationships of the organizations.

A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words

In this photo you can see a beautiful flower, the image was shot in Horcón, Elqui Valley in 2011. I took the photo with a normal camera (it isn't professional) when i was on holidays with my big family.

Honestly i can't talk you about the technical characteristics of the photo because i don't know so much about the theme but i will tell you more about the flower's image.

It's a long history but i'm gonna try to shorten it for you :)
2011 was a wonderfull year, because i was accepted in the Universidad de Chile but in an ecologist carreer, that's the reason why i was interested in flowers, plants and nature. In the 2011's holidays i was so excited for my new carreer that i began to photograph all the nature of the place.

When i saw the flower, i knew that the photo would be awesome.
Actually, each time i see the image, i remember those times when i enjoyed the nature and, most importantly, when i was with dear people, who now is gone.

Anyway, i love this image because the day i took the photo was a reeaaaaaally good day. Now in this photo, i can see peace, love, nature, and many moments of that day.

Favorite books

"A Song of Ice and Fire"

Game of Thrones (a tv-series) is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire written by George R.R Martin. I knew the series and the books in 2011 when Game of Thrones premiered on HBO.

The story of the books (and the tv series) is about a war amoung a several families for the throne. Furthermore it is the threat of the cold monsters, and the Daenerys Targaryen trip who try to fight for the throne with her three dragons.

You should know about this series because is really famous around the world. The characters are the best because each one is special, there isn't a tipical bad or good guy, and before you knows it, they die. That's awful because two of my favourite characters are dead.

I must be honest, i haven't read all the books because i want to be surprised by each chapter of the tv series. So every sunday i see Game of Thrones just as excited as the rest. If you read all the books: NO SPOILERS PLEASE.

The books are really cool because the story is exciting, the characters are intriguing and the most important thing is that in the tv series there is an actor that is chilean! His name is Pedro Pascal and he's very handsome. So i recommend Game of Thrones (the books and the tv-series), to all you, to my family and to all my friends.

If you want to start to see the tv-series is very easy: you have to watch HBO every sunday at 22:00.
If you want to read the books (you should be!), i have the second book of the saga so i can lend it. In internet are all the books and in the libraries you can buy it too.

I must ask, do you prefer read the books or see the tv-series?
